Calendly Alternative for Pet Care Bookings

Calendly is good at finding a free meeting slot. Pet care bookings need more: date ranges, pet details, capacity limits and stay-based pricing. SitPup keeps those parts in the request from the start, on a Free plan.

  • Multi-day stays, not 30-minute slots
  • Pet details collected with the request
  • A capacity limit per service
  • Pricing by night, by visit or by hour

Calendly is good for appointments. Boarding needs more.

If you offer short visits, a regular calendar can be enough. With boarding, the owner is not booking one open time slot. They are asking for a stay: drop-off, pick-up, which pet it is and what care notes matter. SitPup collects that in one request, so you can see whether you can accept it.

02

What a pet care booking has to carry

These are the things you need before you can answer a request, and they are what SitPup collects by default.

1

A date range

Drop-off and pick-up, with everything in between blocked, not a single slot.

2

The animal

Breed, age, weight and care notes such as feeding or medication.

3

Where care happens

At your place or at the client home, chosen per service.

4

How many you can take

A capacity per service, so a full weekend stops accepting requests.

03

Setup starts closer to the real booking

A general tool gives you an empty calendar and event types to design. SitPup gives you pet care service templates for walks, visits, daycare and overnight stays, pet types you switch on, and a booking form where breed, age, weight and care notes are toggles rather than custom questions you have to write and keep updated.

04

Pricing rules that match how pet care is charged

Pet care rarely has one flat price. SitPup supports pricing by night, per visit or by the hour, plus rules for weekend rates, seasonal date ranges, a minimum number of nights, and different prices per pet type. These are settings, not workarounds.

What it costs

SitPup has a Free plan that includes the booking page, the widget, calendar and availability, 5 bookings per month and 3 gallery photos. Paid plans raise the limits and add profile features. There is no commission on any booking.

Meeting scheduling versus pet care booking

The left column describes how general-purpose scheduling tools usually work. The right column is what SitPup handles for pet care. This is a comparison of product categories rather than a feature audit of any single product.

FAQ

Can I use Calendly for pet sitting?

You can book appointments with it, and for single short visits that may be enough. The gaps show up with multi-day stays, per-service capacity and pet details, because those usually become custom questions or manual checks.

What makes SitPup a pet care alternative rather than another scheduler?

The defaults. Service templates for walks and visits, daycare and overnight stays, a form that already asks for breed, age, weight and care notes, a care location per service, capacity per service, and pricing by night or per visit.

Is SitPup harder to set up than a scheduling tool?

It is usually quicker, because most of the setup is reviewing pet care defaults and changing prices rather than designing event types and custom questions from scratch.

Do I need a website to use it?

No. You get a hosted booking page at your own address. If you do have a website, a two-line widget puts the same booking form behind a button on it.

Does SitPup charge commission?

No. SitPup does not take a percentage of your bookings on any plan.

Can I still take bookings by phone?

You can. Add a reservation manually from the dashboard, and phone bookings sit in the same calendar as online ones.

Has anyone actually switched from Calendly to SitPup?

100+ pet care businesses already run their bookings through SitPup instead of a general scheduler. The feedback we hear most: configuration is quick and it removes a lot of the manual back-and-forth.

Try it against your own services

Add the three services you book most, set a capacity and a price, and send yourself a request from your phone. That tells you more than any comparison table, including this one.
