Built for a business that's just you
Home boarding is usually a solo operation, often one or two dogs at a time alongside your own. SitPup doesn't ask you to set up rooms, assign staff or manage a facility: you set a capacity number for the service, and requests stop coming in automatically once you're full for a given date. Setup is reviewing what's already there, not building a system from scratch.

If you do not have a website, you get a hosted page at your own address, like yourhome.sitpup.com, with your photos, services and prices, ready to take requests. If you do have one, the widget puts the same booking form behind a button on your site. Neither costs extra on the Free plan.

Licensing and insurance are on you to check
Rules for home-based animal boarding vary a lot by country and sometimes by local council, and some places require a licence while others don't. SitPup doesn't have a view on this; check your own local requirements rather than assuming what applies elsewhere applies to you.

Do I need a licence to board dogs at home?
It depends on where you live. Home boarding is licensed in some countries and local authorities and not in others, so check your own local rules rather than following advice written for somewhere else.
How many dogs can I take in my home at once?
You choose the capacity in SitPup, but local licensing or insurance rules may limit how many dogs you can board. SitPup stops accepting new requests once the number you set is reached for a given date.
Can I offer home boarding and dog walking together?
Yes. You can list both as services with their own prices and capacity, and requests for either arrive in the same dashboard.
Do I need a website to take home boarding requests?
No. You get a hosted booking page at your own address, and the widget is only for adding the same form to a website you already have.
Does SitPup charge commission?
No. SitPup doesn't take a cut of your bookings, on the Free plan or any paid plan.
